Dominiquea Christine Trotter was born on April 22, 1996 in New Jersey to Tommy and Denise Trotter. She has an older sister, Karissa, 19. Dominiquea, or Nikka as she is known to her family and friends, is in tenth grade at Mater Dei High School. She will graduate from high school in 2014.

When Nikka was one years old, her mom signed her up for Mommy and Me classes at Rebound Gymnastics. At the beginning of her gymnastics career, she trained at Rebound Gymnastics under coaches Diane Farrell, Bob Farrell and Kim Dziomba.

Dominiquea competed as a level four in 2004. She won the balance beam title at the Parkette Invitational. At the Level 4 State Championships, she finished second on balance beam and in the all-around. In the fall, she made the Diamond National TOPs Team. She competed as a level six and seven in 2006. She won the all-around title at the 2006 Rutgers Classic. Nikka then moved up to level eight in 2007. She finished second in the all-around and first on floor exercise and uneven bars at the Friendship Classic. In November, Nikka competed as a level nine.

In 2009, Nikka moved up to level ten. She won the all-around title at the Parkette Invitational. At the Level 10 State Championships, she finished in the top ten. Dominiquea qualified for the US Challenge as a junior pre-elite.

Dominiquea missed most of the 2010 season due to an injury. In June, she traveled to Florida for the Bieger's Elite Qualifier, where she finished 12th overall. She concluded her 2010 season at the Texas National Elite Qualifier.

She started her 2010-2011 season at the Rutgers Classic and won a gold medal on vault and a silver medal on balance beam. At the COTC Meet, she placed second on vault and third on balance beam. She then placed second in the all-around at Star Struck Invitational and Color Games. A the Parkette Invitational, Dominiquea placed eighth in the all-around and third on vault. She placed second on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around at the Scarlet Cup. At the Twilight Knight meet, she won the vault title. Dominiquea won a bronze medal on vault and a silver medal on floor exericse at the Level 10 State Championships. At the Level 10 Regionals, she placed second on vault and fourth on floor exercise.

Currently, Dominiquea is training at Monmouth Gymnastics Academy under coach Maggie Haney. She is training for upcoming 2011 elite season where she hopes to qualify to junior international elite.
