
Welcome to the Official Website of Kami Amemiya-Shows! Kami is a level 10 and junior pre-elite gymnast from SCEGA in Temecula, California. She is training under coaches Kathy Strate, Luis Garcia and Meredith Paulicivic. At only 13-years-old, Kami has already accomplished many things in her gymnastics career.
In 2009, Kami competed as a level 9 and pre-elite gymnast. She won the all-around title at the Lady Luck Invitational. At the San Diego Classic, she finished second in the all-around and first on vault. She qualified to the Level 9 Regional Championships, where she won a bronze medal in the all-around as well as on vault. At the Level 9 Western National Championships, she placed 14th overall. After Kami's level 9 season, she qualified to junior pre-elite and competed at the US Challenge in Des Moines, Iowa.
In 2010, Kami won the all-around title at the Level 10 SoCal State Championships. She then tied for eighth in the all-around and second on uneven bars at the Level 10 Regional Championships. There, she was the first alternate for the JO Nationals. Kami got an opportunity to compete in the JO Nationals after a competitor dropped out of the meet. At the JO Nationals, Kami finished 20th on floor exercise with a 9.400. In 2011, Kami placed second in the all-around at the Level 10 State. At the Level 10 Regionals, she placed fifth overall and first on uneven bars. There, she qualified to the JO Nationals where she placed tenth in the all-around and ninth on floor exericse out of 57 gymnasts.
