Kentucky was edged by Florida, 196.275-194.075 today in Lexington, KY. Kayla scored a 9.600 on balance beam and 9.700 on floor exercise. Well done Kayla. We added a few new pictures from the Excite Night a few weeks ago.

The University of Kentucky gymnastics team hosted the Excite Night at the KY Classic today, finishing second with a 194.325 right behind No.4 Oklahoma. Kayla finished sixth on balance beam and floor exercise scoring a 9.700 and 9.750 respectively. Good job Kayla! Click here to view full results from the meet.

Last Saturday, the UK gymnastics team posted its highest team score at a NCAA Regional in school history with a 195.175 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama! As a team, they finished fifth. Kayla posted a 9.475 on floor exercise. Well done UK!

This past weekend, the gymnastics team traveled to Birmingham, Alabama for the SEC Championships, where they finished seventh. Kayla posted a 9.6 on floor exercise. Four new videos have been added from last few competitions.

The University of Kentucky gymnastics team finished second in a four-way meet with Maryland, North Carolina and George Washington today. Kayla did an exhibition on uneven bars where she scored a 9.600. She also scored a 9.450 on floor exercise. Well done UK!

Today Kayla and her teammates traveled to Williamsburg, Virginia to compete in a dual meet with William & Mary. The UK Gymnastics won the meet with a 193.850. Kayla had a solid floor routine scoring a 9.600 for a ninth place. Well done Kayla! The UK gymnastics team will compete in a dual meet with the University of Maryland on Sunday.

Last Friday night, Kayla helped the UK gymnastics team to defeat No. 20 LSU, 195.575-192.950. Kayla finished sixth on floor exercise with a 9.775. The University of Kentucky gymnastics team was edged by No. 13 Arkansas, 193.525-194.975. Kayla scored a 9.500 on floor exercise. The Wildcats will travel to Auburn, Alabama for a dual meet with Auburn University on February 4.

Today Kayla and her teammates traveled to Florida for a dual meet with University of Florida. The Gators defeated the Wildcats, 196.775-192.900. Kayla competed on floor exercise. Next week on January 21, the UK gymnastics team will host a dual meet with Arkansas. Many new pictures have been posted from last weekend's Excite Night.

UK gymnastics team began their 2011 season today at the Excite Night with the University of Illinois and Northern Illinois University. The Wildcats won the Excite Night with a 194.350. Kayla placed 11th on floor exercise with a 9.500. Good job Kayla and the Wildcats!

Kayla and the gymnastics team traveled to Muncie, Indiana for a preseason exhibition against Ball State on December 3. The team showed solid performances and defeated Ball State. The University of Kentucky gymnastics team will begin their 2011 season on January 8. Go Wildcats! Today we added new pictures from the Blue and White exhibition meet.

Kayla competed last night at the Level 10 Region VII Championships where she finished 11th in the all-around. she placed fifth on uneven bars scoring a 9.150. She qualified to JO National Invitational Tournament in Dallas, Texas. Good job Kayla!

She won silver medals on balance beam and floor exercise scoring a 9.350 and 9.200 respectively. There, she qualified to the Level 10 Regional Championships on April 9-11. Good job Kayla!

This past weekend, Kayla traveled to Florida for the 2010 Magical Classic. She did well, where she finished fourth in the all-around with a 36.3. She won a gold medal on balance beam scoring a 9.375 and finished fourth on floor exercise with a 9.0. Good job Kayla!

Kayla is in Cancun, Mexico for the 2009 Cancun Classic. She only did one event, uneven bars, due of a sprained ankle from a few weeks ago. She placed fifth place on uneven bars scoring 8.4.

Hard to believe the summer is half over but it has been very productive- attended NC State's Wolfpack Camp in June, Region 7 Pre-Season Prep camp in July, learning new skills, college visits as well as 2 more clinics before the summer is over. But, it has not been all work... vacation in Virginia Beach, movies,and hanging out with my friends and more.

She also brought home a bronze medal on uneven bars scoring 9.325 and a gold medal on balance beam scoring 9.375. She made the Maryland State team and qualified to the Level 10 Regionals. Happy Easter! I'm finally back on track. My last two meets have been very successful and rewarding. South Carolina was a lot of fun. We went on an exciting ghost tour and had a day of shopping in downtown Charleston.
Our home gym meet was interesting, loud and exciting. We had gyms from Ohio, Virginia, Delaware, and all over Maryland. I'm very proud to say that our team won first place and we are excited and ready for States. We couldn't have made it this far without our coach, Larisa. She has helped us through thick and thin this year.

Kayla just finished competing at the Hill's Maryland Classic today. She won a silver medal on balance beam scoring 9.400. She then placed 7th on vault and 10th on floor exercise. Happy New Year, Everyone! It has already been rough beginning of the 2007-2008 season. After returning from Eastern Nationals (in May) on Monday, the following Friday I under went arthroscopic surgery on my right elbow to remove the bone chip. It was a long summer filled with recovery and hard work getting back all of my skills. One week prior to the Region 7 High Performance Clinic, I had a high ankle sprain, which limited me to bar work. Slowly recovering from the ankle sprain, my left elbow began hurting from all of the extra bar work I was doing. Which regrettably, slowed my training for the up coming season thus limiting my competition for the Black Eyed Susan and scaling back routines for the Christmas on the Cheasapeake. Things always happen in threes...during the Christmas holiday once again laid up but, this time with a virus.
I'm back in the gym now; gaining strength everyday. I'm looking forward to putting my routines back in order and enjoying the season ahead, especially, this being the last year with my best friend, Kelsey Joannides who is heading off to the University of Illinois next year. Check back in a couple weeks, I have the Hill Maryland Classic coming up and hope to have a great meet.

Kayla competed this past weekend at the Black-Eyed Susan Invitational. She only competed on balance beam due of an ankle injury. She did well, tying for a third place with the score of 8.750. Kayla's Level 10 teammates Audrey Tolbert and Katrina Carpenter placed second and eighth in the all-around respectively. Kelsey Joannides finished second in the all-around (different age group) and had just signed her National Letter of Intent with University of Illinois. Also, Kayla's Level 10 Team finished first!
