In April of 1997, Megan began gymnastics at the age of two (Watch Video) in a parent-child class at Walker's Gymnastics in Lowell, MA. There, she continued in the recreational program until the age of four (Watch Video).

At this time, she moved on a pre-team, where she competed her first level 4 meet at the age of five and won the all-around title. Megan moved to Gymnastics Village in Amberst, New Hampshire and continued to grow as a gymnast.

In January of 2002, she competed in only one level 5 meet, where she finished first on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. Megan competed as a level 6 gymnast rest of the 2002 season. She won three gold medals on vault, balance beam and floor exercise at the Level 6 New Hampshire State Championships. At the end of 2002, Megan qualified to the gold level at the National TOPs Testing in Endwell, New York.

Megan moved up to level 7 in 2003. She finished second in the all-around as well as first on uneven bars and floor exercise at the Level 7 New Hampshire State Championships. In December of 2003, Megan did her first elite compulsory testing, where obtained a qualifying score.

In 2004, Megan competed as a level 8 gymnast for only two months competing in four invitationals before moving up to level 9 in February. She won the all-around title at her first level 9 meet. At the Level 9 Regional championships, she won the balance beam title scoring a 9.9! There, she qualified to the Level 9 Eastern National Championships. In May, Megan competed at the US Challenge in Rochester, New York, where she finished first in the all-around in the compulsory section. A few months later, Megan and her family moved to Texas, where she started training at World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) under coaches Valeri Liukin and Natalya Marakova.

Megan continued level 9 in 2005. She finished second in the all-around and second on balance beam at the WOGA Classic. At the Level 9 State Championships, she placed fourth in the all-around. Megan then won the all-around title at the Level 9 Regional Championships in Norman, Oklahoma. In addition, she also won a gold medal on balance beam and a silver medal on floor exercise. There, she qualified to the Level 9 Western National Championships. At the Level 9 Western Nationals in St. Louis, Missouri, she finished fifth in the all-around and first on balance beam and floor exercise.

In 2006, at age 10, Megan moved up to level 10. She finished second in the all-around and first on balance beam at the WOGA Classic. She placed fifth in the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge and AOGC Invitational and sixth in the all-around at the DGC State Qualifier. At the Universal Invitational in Florida, she finished third in the all-around and first on balance beam. At the Level 10 State Championships, Megan finished eighth overall and fifth on floor exercise. Megan then placed seventh in the all-around and fifth on uneven bars at the Level 10 Regional Championships. There, she qualified to the Junior Olympic National Championships, where she finished 12th in the all-around and third on balance beam.

Megan began her 2007 season with a win in the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. She then won a gold medal on uneven bars and a silver medal on balance beam at the WOGA Classic.

Megan's doctors discovered that she was severely knock-kneed and would need several reconstructive surgeries to both legs to correct the problem. Therefore, she was sidelined from gymnastics for nearly the next two years in 2007 and 2008. Megan was determined to compete again and spent these two years working with a physical therapist and conditioning nearly every day.

In 2009, Megan slowly came back into competitive shape and competed in several invitationals. At the Level 10 Regional Championships, she placed second in the all-around and first on balance beam. She qualified to her second Junior Olympic Nationals in Seattle, Washington.

Megan had a great season in 2010! She won the uneven bars title at the Metroplex Challenge. At the WOGA Classic, she finished third in the all-around and second on vault and floor exercise. She then traveled to Colorado for the Pikes Peak Cup, where she won the all-around title. There, she qualified to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup in Worcester, MA. At the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup, she finished ninth in the all-around and seventh on uneven bars. At the Level 10 State Championships, Megan placed seventh overall and third on balance beam. She then won a silver medal in the all-around at the Level 10 Regional Championships. In addition, she also won four medals on all events, including a gold medal on balance beam. At the Junior Olympic Nationals in Dallas, Texas, Megan placed fourth in the all-around, second on uneven bars, first on balance beam and second on foor exercise. There, she made the Junior Olympic National Team!

In 2011, Megan started her season at the WOGA Classic where she won the uneven bars title. At the Houston National Invitational, she won the all-around title as well as first on uneven bars and balance beam. Megan placed second on uneven bars and third on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around at the Level 10 State Championships. At the Level 10 Regionals, she placed first on uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around! She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Long Beach, California where she earned a silver medal in the all-around. In addition, she placed sixth on uneven bars, fourth on balance beam and fifth on floor exercise.

Currently, Megan trains 36 hours a week at World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) under coaches Laurent Landi and Cecile Canqueteau-Landi. She is preparing for upcoming 2012 season where she will test elite and hopes to qualify as a senior international elite. Megan's ultimate goal is to represent the USA at an international meet. In addition, she wants to obtain a college scholarship for gymnastics.

Megan Ashley Marenghi was born on January 21, 1995 in Boston, MA. She is the only child to Patty and John Marenghi. Currently, Megan is a sophomore in high school. Megan would like to major in pre-med in college and then continue on to Med school. She plans on becoming an orthopedic surgeon and hopes to work at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Ma. During Megan's spare time she loves to go scuba diving, boating and swimming. Megan has enjoyed volunteering for the Special Olympics for two years. She has volunteered for their gymnastic practices and competitions.
