Alexa Davis was born on July 24, 1992. She trained at Southern Tier Gymnastics Academy through the 2004 season. After her family moved to Pennsylvania, she began training at Central Pennsylvania Academy of Gymnastics. She graduated from high school in 2010.

In 2003, Alexa competed level seven. She finished third on beam at the I Love NY Cup. She moved up to level eight in 2004. She finished fourth on bars at Regionals. She competed level nine in 2005. She finished fourth on vault at the Wine Country Classic. She competed at Regionals. In 2006, Alexia finished third on vault and fourth all-around at Regionals. She finished 12th all-around at Easterns. Alexa finished sixth all-around at the 2007 State Championships. She placed seventh all-around at Regionals. She competed at Easterns. In 2008, Alexa placed sixth on vault at Easterns. She finished 19th all-around.

Alexa began competing level ten in 2009. She won floor at the East Coast Classic. She won vault and floor at the Fun in Sun Invitational. At the State Championships, she finished in the top ten. Alexa finished second all-around at Regionals. She competed at JO Nationals. In 2010, Alexa won beam and the all-around at the Rock n Roll Classic. She competed at the Nastia Liukin Cup. She placed third on bars at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished 15th all-around.
