Alicia Goodwin was born on May 18, 1989. She trained at WOGA through the 2004 season. She then moved to Metroplex Gymnastics. Alicia graduated from high school in 2007.
In 2002, Alicia competed level eight. She won bars and the all-around at the State Championships. She placed second on floor. She finished first on beam, floor and the all-around at Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2003. She won the all-around at the WOGA Classic. At the Metroplex Challenge, Alicia finished first on bars, beam, floor and the all-around. She won beam at the Parkette Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed first on floor and second all-around. She won all five gold medals at Regionals. At Westerns, she placed first on beam, floor and the all-around! She finished second on vault and bars. A few weeks later, she competed as a level ten at the IGHOF Invitational, winning beam and the all-around.
Alicia competed level ten in 2004. She did not compete in 2005. In 2006, she finished first on bars and third all-around at the State Championships. She won floor and finished fourth all-around at Regionals. She finished tenth on floor at JO Nationals. She continued training at Metroplex in 2007. As a freshman at Florida in 2008, she competed on bars at the season opener. She either competed or exhibitioned on bars or beam at every meet during the regular season. She was a NACGC Scholastic All-American and a member of the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll.
During her sophomore season in 2009, Alicia earned First-Team All-American honors on bars. She won bars against Auburn and also against Michigan State. Alicia won her first beam title against Michigan. She was on the SEC Gymnastics Community Service Team, an NACGC Scholastic All-American and a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. In 2010, Alicia earned Second-Team All-American honors on bars. She won bars against LSU and finished second against Utah. She won bars at Kentucky. Alicia was a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and NACGC Scholastic All-American team. As a senior in 2011, Alicia earned All-SEC second-team honors on beam. She won bars at LSU. Alicia competed on bars ten times. She was a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
