Dayle Akamine was born on August 1, 1991. She trained at Kokokahi Gymnastics during her club career. She graduated from high school in 2009.

In 2005, Dayle competed level nine. She finished first on beam at the Ku'uipo Classic. She placed in the top twenty at Regionals. Dayle placed in the top ten at Regionals in 2006. She competed at Westerns. In 2007, Dayla finished in the top fifteen at Regionals. She moved up to level ten in 2008. She placed third on beam and fourth all-around at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. At Regionals, she won beam. She finished ninth all-around. In 2009, Dayla placed first on beam and sixth all-around at Regionals. She competed at JO Nationals.

As a freshman at Sac State in 2010, Dayle competed on beam in one meet. She also performed three exhibitions on beam and one on vault and floor. She did not compete in 2011.
