Amy Al-Ashari was born on March 3, 1994. She trained at Gedderts' Twistars USA during her club career.

In 2002, Amy competed level five. She won bars and the all-around at the Cup Meet. She moved up to level six in 2003. She finished third all-around at the Fall Judges Cup. In 2006, Amy placed second all-around as a level six at the State Championships. She won beam. She moved up to level seven in 2007. She finished first on vault, bars and the all-around at the Motown Madness meet. She finished second all-around at the State Championships. Amy competed level eight in 2008. She won vault, bars and the all-around at the Twistars Invitational. She placed first on bars, beam and the all-around at the For Love Or Money meet. Amy won the all-around title at the Motown Madness meet. At the State Championships, she won bars and the all-around. Amy won vault and the all-around at Regionals.

Amy competed level nine in 2009. She finished first on bars and second all-around at the US Airborne Invitational. She finished first on bars and the all-around at the Motown Madness meet. At the Arena Classic, she placed second all-around. Amy won bars, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed first all-around. Amy won the all-around title at Easterns! She also placed second on vault, bars, and floor. Amy retired after the 2009 season.
