Lara Albright was born on March 13, 1992. During her club career, she trained at WOGA under Yevgeny Marchenko and Laurie Dix.

In 2002, Lara competed level six. She won a silver medal on beam at the District Championships. At the State Championships, she placed in the top ten. She competed levels even in 2004. Lara won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Parkette Invitational. At the Presidential Classic, she finished first on floor and in the all-around. She placed second all-around and first on beam at the North State Championships. Lara ended her season by sweeping the gold medals at the Level 7 State Championships in the gold division.

She moved up to level eight in 2005. She won vault, beam and the all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational. At the California Classic, she swept the gold medals. Lara placed first on beam and in the all-around at States. She ended her season by finishing third all-around and first on floor at Regionals. In 2006, she competed level nine. Lara won beam, floor at the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the AOGC Invitational. Lara also won floor and the all-around at the Universal Invitational. At the State Championships, she finished second in the all-around and first on floor. She also won floor at Regionals. At Westerns, Lara placed first on floor and ninth all-around.

Her first year as a level ten was in 2007. She finished third all-around and first on floor at the Riverwalk meet. At the Rose City Classic, Lara won beam and floor. She placed second on floor at States and Regionals. Lara ended her season with a top twenty-five performance at JO Nationals. She continued to have strong results in 2008. She won the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge, WOGA Classic and State Championships. At Regionals, she finished fifth all-around for the second year in a row. At JO Nationals, she placed eleventh all-around.

In 2009, Lara finished third on beam at the WOGA Classic. She finished in the top fifteen at States and in the top ten at Regionals. She ended her season by placing second on beam at JO Nationals. In November of 2009, she signed with the University of Washington. Lara continued to have strong results in 2010, placing third all-around at the WOGA Classic. At State, she only competed on beam, placing third. She qualified to her fourth JO Nationals at Regionals. She ended her club career with a top ten performance on floor.
