Alexa Johnson was born on November 23, 1992. She will graduate from Valley High School in 2012. She has trained at Chow's Gymnastics since 2002.

In 2005, Alexa competed level seven. She placed second all-around at the Surf City Classic. She competed level nine in 2007. She won the Gymquarter's Invitational. She continued competing level nine in 2008. Alexa won floor at the National Judges Cup. At Westerns, she finished eighth all-around. She won a bronze medal on floor.

Alexa's first year as a level ten was in 2009. She started the season by winning a silver medal in the all-around at the Rising Stars Invitational. She won balance beam. At the IGI Chicago Style, Alexa picked up another title on floor. She won beam at Regionals. Alexa placed fourth all-around, qualifying for JO Nationals where she finished 25th all-around.
