Alexandra Marrero was born on August 28, 1996. Her older sister, Samantha, is also a gymnast. Alexandra began gymnastics at Spins Gymnastics. She followed her coach to Gold Medal Gymnastics Center where she has trained most of her club career. She will graduate from high school in 2014.
In 2006, Alexandra competed level seven. She placed second on bars and fourth all-around at the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2007. She finished second on bars at Regionals. In 2008, Alexandra placed fourth all-around at Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2009. She finished first on bars at the Parkette Invitational. At the IGI Chicago Style, she placed third on floor. She won bars at the Little Bigger Invitational. At Regionals, she placed fifth all-around. Alexandra competed at Easterns.
Alexandra continued competing level nine in 2010. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the Brestyan Invitational. At the Manhattan Classic, she placed second all-around. She won beam at Regionals. She finished second all-around. At Easterns, she placed second on bars. Alexandra began competing level ten in 2011. She finished fifth all-around at the State Championships. Alexandra placed eighth all-around at Regionals. She competed at the JO National Invitational Tournament where she placed fourth on floor.
