Alissa Nguyen was born on April 27, 1993. She is the daughter of Linh and Tam Nguyen. Alissa has a younger brother and a little sister (Michael & Britney). Alissa will graduate from Manheim Township High School in 2011. She trains at Prestige Gymnastics in Pennsylvania.

In 2006, Alissa placed first on vault, first on bars, and third all-around at the Level 6 State Championships. Alissa moved up to level 7 in 2007. She took first place on vault, first on bars, second on beam, and placed first all-around at the Level 7 State Championships. In 2008, she moved up to level 8. Alissa took first place on vault, second on bars, and placed sixth all-around at the Level 8 State Championships. She qualified for the Eastern Regionals and placed first on vault, ninth on floor and bars, and placed third all-around. She took Team Pennsylvania to second place.

Alissa trained for level 9 in 2009, but did not compete as a level 9 for unknown reasons. She competed midyear as a level 8. At the Parkette Invitational, she won first place on bars, first on floor, and placed first all-around. At the 32nd Nation’s Capital Cup Invitational, she placed first on vault, first on bars, third on beam, second on floor, and placed first all-around. She ended the 2009 season with first place on vault, first on bars, first on beam, first on floor, and placed first all-around at the Level 8 State Championships. Alissa once again qualified for the Eastern Regionals. She took first place on vault, third on bars, second on floor, and placed fourth all-around. Again, she helped to place Team Pennsylvania to second place.

Alissa comepted level ten in 2010. She finished in the top twnety at the State CHampionships. She qualified to Regionals. In 2011, she competed at the Parkette Invitational.
