Lenin Arguelles was born on May 6, 1992. She trained at Emerald City Gymnastics until the 2007 season. She then began competing for Gymnastics East. She made National TOPs Testing in 2001 at the age of nine.
In 2002, Lenin competed as a level seven at the Flips USA Invitational. The next year she moved up to level eight. By 2005, she was competing as a level nine. She finished third all-around at States. She was also second on bars and third on beam and floor. At Regionals, Lenin finished fourth all-around. She qualified for Westerns! Lenin placed twenty-fifth all-around.
Lenin continued competing as a level nine in 2006. She qualified for Westerns again and finished in the same spot. She did not finish the 2007 season. Lenin began competing as a level ten in 2008. She finished sixth all-around at the Seattle Open and Vegas Cup. At States, she qualified for Regionals. Lenin finished second all-around at Regionals! She placed third on vault, bars and floor. This performance qualified her for the JO National Championships.
She had a good 2009 season. In January, she finished third on vault, beam and floor at the Gymnastics in Paradise meet. Her first all-around meet of the season was the Surf City Classic. She then competed at the Great West Gymfest. At the State Championships, she finished in the top ten. Lenin won beam and the all-around at Regionals! She ended her season at JO Nationals.
