Ariyanna Smith was born on October 22, 1993. She trained at Buckeye Gymnastics. She graduated from high school in 2011.

In 2005, Ariyanna competed level five. She finished second on vault at the Buckeye Classic. She competed for Ohio at the National Judges Cup in 2007 as a level seven. She competed level eight the remainder of the season. She finished first on beam and second all-around at the Buckeye Classic. She finished first on beam and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed second on beam and eighth all-around. She moved up to level nine in 2008. She finished second on beam at the Buckeye Classic. She won beam at the Luau in Leos Invitational. At Easterns, she placed seventh on vault and tenth all-around. In 2009, she won vault, bars and the all-around at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She finished second on vault at the Buckeye Classic. She placed first on floor at the Palm Beach Invitational. At the Arena Classic, she won beam. She finished first on vault and second all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, she placed fifth on vault and third on bars.

Ariyanna began competing level ten in 2010. She finished second on vault and bars at the Universal Galaxy meet. She placed third on floor at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She finished third all-around at the Buckeye Classic. She placed second on vault at the Arnold Gymnastics Challenge. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. She finished twelfth all-around at Regionals. In 2011, Ariyanna placed second on vault at the Universal Galaxy meet. She finished third on beam and floor at the Athlete Warrior Challenge. She finished second on vault at the Arnold Gymnastics Challenge. She placed third on vault and seventh all-around at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals.
