Erika Aufiero was born on May 21, 1994. Her sister, Breyanna, is also a gymnast. Erika trained at Flips USA Gymnastics through the 2002 season. She then trained at Starz Gymnastics. In the spring of 2005, she followed her coach, Mig O'Hara, back to Flips USA. Erika moved to Deltchev following the 2008 season. She will graduate from high school in 2012.
In 2002, Erika competed level five. She finished third all-around at the Flips USA Invitational. She moved up to level six in 2003. She won bars, floor and the all-around at the Pegasus Classic. In the fall, she was named to the National TOPs "B" Team. Erika began competing level eight in 2004. She placed third all-around at the Flips USA Invitational. She finished in the top ten at the State and Regional Championships. She competed one level nine meet in 2005, finishing in the top ten at the Flips USA Invitational. She spent the rest of the season competing in trampoline and tumbling. Erika placed first on level nine tumbling, third on level ten trampoline and second in synchro at the Regional Championships. She won tumbling at Nationals! She also finished third on trampoline and second in synchro.
Erika competed level nine in 2006. She won the all-around at the Flips USA Invitational, San Diego Classic, Hard Rock Invitational and Long Beach Open. She placed third at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. Erika finished sixth all-around and first on floor at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished third on bars and sixth all-around. She ended her season at Westerns, placing fifth on bars and floor. She placed eighth all-around! Erika was also named to the Jumpstart National Team in 2006.
She began competing level ten in 2007. She finished sixth at the Flips USA Invitational. Erika placed second all-around at the San Diego Classic. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. Erika finished fourth at the State Championships. In 2008, she placed third at the Flips USA Invitational. She won floor and the all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. Erika finished fourth at the State Championships. She placed in the top fifteen at Regionals.
In 2009, Erika finished second all-around at the Surf City Classic and Spirit of the Flame Challenge. She won bars and placed third all-around at the Byers Invitational. Erika finished first on floor at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished third on bars and ninth all-around. Erika finished second all-around at the San Diego Classic and Great West Gym Fest in 2010. She won bars and the all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. At the Byers Invitational, she won bars, beam and the all-around. Erika won bars at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed second on bars and third all-around. Erika ended her season at JO Nationals. In 2011, Erika placed first on beam, floor and the all-around at the Flips USA Invitational. She won floor and the all-around at the San Diego Classic. At the IGI Chicago Style, she won vault, bars and the all-around. She placed first on bars at the Golden State Classic. At the State Championships, she won beam, floor and the all-around. Erika won bars at Regionals. She placed first on bars, second on beam and third all-around at the JO National Invitational Tournament.
