Amanda West was born on December 24, 1994. Her sister, Samantha is also a gymnast. Amanda trained at Gymnastics Unlimited in Washington through the 2004 season. She then moved to Auburn Gymnastics Center. Amanda will graduate from high school in 2013.
In 2003, Amanda competed level four. She won beam and floor at Sectionals. She also won beam and floor at the Rainier Cup. She moved up to level five in 2004. She finished second on beam at the Mystery Classic and Winter Sun Invitational. She continued competing level five in 2005. She placed second on beam and floor at the Rainier Cup. Amanda moved up to level seven in 2006. She finished fourth all-around at the Flips USA Invitational. She placed third on beam at the All-American Invitational. Amanda placed third all-around at the Vegas Vacation meet. She won beam at the California Classic. At the Region 2 Invitational, she placed seventh all-around.
Amanda moved up to level eight in 2007. She placed second on beam at the Lady Luck Invitational. She placed third on beam at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished third on bars, floor and the all-around. Amanda continued competing level eight in 2008. She placed second on vault at the State Championships. She won beam and the all-around. At Regionals, Amanda placed third. She moved up to level nine in 2009. She finished second on floor at the National Judges Cup. At Regionals, she won beam, floor and the all-around. Amanda placed third on floor and ninth all-around at Westerns.
She continued competing level nine in 2010. She won beam at the All-American Invitational. At the Emerald Team Challenge, she won bars. Amanda won the all-around title at the State Championships. At Regionals, Amanda placed first on beam, floor and the all-around. She finished second on floor and sixth on vault at Westerns. She placed ninth all-around.
