Kaelie Baer was born on January 10, 1990. She trained at DeVeau's School of Gymnastics for most her of club career. She spent 2003 at Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy. Kaelie was on the National TOPs Team in 1998 and 1999.
In 2003, Kaelie competed as a junior national elite. She competed at the American Challenge and National Podium Meet. She returned to level ten in 2004. She finished third all-around at Regionals. She placed in the top twenty at JO Nationals. In 2005, Kaelie only competed on three events at JO Nationals. She did not compete in 2006.
Kaelie continued competing as a level ten in 2007. She finished fourth all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational. At the Midwest Open, she won the all-around title. Kaelie won Regionals. At JO Nationals, she finished second all-around! She won vault. Kaelie qualified to JO Nationals again in 2008 after finishing sixth in the all-around at Regionals. She placed third on vault and bars.
As a freshman at UCLA, Kaelie competed on vault seven times, beam three times and floor eight times. She missed her sophomore season in 2010 due to injury.
