Megan Bain was born on March 25, 1992. She trained at Bailie's Gymnastics through the 2006 season. She then moved to All American Gymnastics. Megan graduated from high school in 2010.

In 2003, Megan competed level seven. She won bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2004. She finished fourth all-around at the State Championships. Megan placed in the top ten at Regionals. She continued competing level eight in 2005. She won bars at the Vegas Vacation meet. She won floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed third on bars and fourth on floor.

Megan began competing level nine in 2006. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She finished fourth at Regionals. She ended her season at Westerns. She continued competing level nine in 2007. She won the all-around at the Ah! meet. At the State Championships, she won bars, floor and the all-around. Megan placed fourth on beam at Regionals. At Westerns, she finished third on bars, fourth on beam and seventh all-around.

She began competing level ten in 2008. She won floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She placed in the top fifteen at Regionals. In 2009, Megan won bars, beam and the all-around at the Hard Rock Invitational. She also won the all-around at the Bear Country Invitational. She finished fourth at the State Championships. At Regionals, Megan placed second. She finished fourth on bars and 23rd all-around at JO Nationals. In 2010, Megan finished third at the Classic Rock Invitational. She won all five gold medals at the State Championships. She won beam and placed second at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she finished fifth on floor and 17th all-around.

As a freshman at BYU in 2011, Megan competed on vault, beam and floor. Megan started the 2012 season strong leading the team on vault, beam and floor against NCSU. Unfortunately, she was injured in the third meet of the season. Megan fully returned in 2013, competing in the all-around at Southern Utah. She continued competing in the all-around throughout the season.
