Cassie Bair was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania on August 17, 1981. Cassie competed for Hayden's International Gymnastics Academy in Evans, Georgia.

In 1995, Cassie was the level 9 state all-around champion. Cassie also won beam at Regionals. She was a level 10 national team member in 1996 and an alternate in 1997. In 1998, Cassie won the Georgia state level 10 all-around title. At the 1999 State Championships she finished first on vault and beam and second in the all-around.

Cassie began her freshman year at University of Georgia in 1999. She competed the most out of Georgia's five freshmen in the 2000 season. Cassie competed mostly on beam and sometimes on bars. She did not have very good performances in the post season. In 2001, Cassie hit her beam routine ten out of thirteen times. She also competed once on vault. Cassie had a great junior season. She was named team MVP. Cassie was also named Second-Team All-American on beam. She competed on vault through out the season. Unfortunately, she dislocated her knee before SEC'S and was unable to compete at SEC'S and Regionals. In 2003, Cassie was the only senior on the Gym Dogs team. She scored a career high on beam 9.975 on senior night and a 9.90 on bars against Auburn. She ended her career with a First-Team All-American spot on beam.
