Bethany Barrick was born on June 19, 1990. She trained at Technique Gymnastics during her club career. She graduated from high school in 2008.

In 2003, Bethany competed level eight. She won floor at Regionals. She finished in the top ten all-around. Bethany moved up to level nine in 2004. She finished third on vault at the Desert Devils Classic. She finished third all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. At Regionals, she finished in the top fifteen all-around. Bethany swept the event titles at the 2005 Maryland Classic. She finished first on floor and in the all-around at the Golden State Classic. She won beam and floor at the State Championships. At Regionals, Bethany finished first on floor and second all-around. She placed fourth on bars, sixth all-around and first on floor at Westerns!

Bethany moved up to level ten in 2006. She won beam at the Golden State Classic. She finished fifth all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals she placed second on floor and sixth all-around. She competed at JO Nationals. In 2007, Bethany finished third all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won floor. She did not compete in 2008. As a freshman at Sac State in 2009, she redshirted the season due to injuries. In 2010, she competed on floor solely. She exhibitioned once on floor.
