Bridgey Caquatto was born on March 14, 1994 to Dave and Lin Caquatto. Bridgey is currently competing as a junior international elite gymnast. She trained at Aerial Gymnastics in Downers Grove, Illinois, until the summer of 2008. She then trained at Naperville Gymnastics. In March of 2010, Bridgey's coaches opened Legacy Elite Gymnastics. Bridgey is not the only Caquatto with gymnastics talent; older sister Mackenzie is also an international elite gymnast!
In 2006, Bridgey competed as a level 9 and qualified to Level 9 Easterns. She finished 5th in the all-around. In 2007, Bridgey competed her first year as a level 10. She started her year at a few invitationals, such as St. Nick, Sand Dollar, Bravo Classic, and Circle of the Stars. She finished 3rd in the all-around or higher in all invitationals. At Level 10 States, she placed 2nd in the all-around and qualified to Level 10 Regionals. Bridgey then placed 2nd in the all-around, 1st on vault, 2nd on balance beam and floor exercise at Level 10 Regionals. At the 2007 JO National Championships, she finished 8th in the all-around. Bridgey took first place on vault and third place on balance beam. She then qualified to junior international elite shortly after the level ten season. She competed at the US Classic, where she finished 19th in the all-around.
At the beginning of 2008, Bridgey had a great showing at the Sand Dollar Invitational in Orlando, Florida. She took home silver medals on vault and floor. In February, Bridgey and her sister traveled to the Dragon Invitational for the elite qualifier. She placed 4th in the all-around, 3rd on vault, 4th on uneven bars, and 2nd on floor exercise. The next day, she flew home and competed at the IGI Chicago Style. She finished 3rd in the all-around in a highly competitive field. That following weekend, she attended an Elite Training Camp at the National Team Training Center in Texas. While she was there, she qualified to junior international elite! That same month, she competed at the Circle of Stars Invitational. She won the all-around title as well as vault, bars, and beam. Bridgey then easily won the all-around title at her home meet, Midwest Open.
In May 2008, both Caquatto sisters traveled to Coppell, Texas for the May National Elite Qualifier hosted by Texas Dreams Gymnastics. Both sisters showed very impressive results, where they both qualified to the VISA Championships in Boston, MA! Bridgey went to US Classic as a warm-up and finished 16th in the all-around and 6th on floor. At National Championships, Bridgey did extremely well on vault and floor exercise, where she placed 6th and 8th respectively. She finished 21st in the all-around. In late october 2008, Bridgey had a wonderful opportunity to perform during the Tour of Gymnastics Superstars along with her sister at the Rockford Metro Center.
Bridgey finished third in the all-around at the 2009 Twistars' Invitational. She placed second all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. She won uneven bars. In February, she received an international assignment at the US National Team Training Camp. She competed at the USA vs. Japan dual competition, placing third all-around. Her assignment earned her a spot on the US National Team! In March, she won the Flip'r Invitational. In early May, she went on the European Tour. She helped the United States defeat both Germany and France. At the US Classic, she had the highest vault score during her session. Bridgey finished second all-around at the US National Championships. She was the only junior to place on all four events and the all-around. Bridgey ended her year at the Junior Pan Am Games. She helped the United States win, and also placed second on vault.
