Cortni Beers was born in Claremore, Oklahoma on March 22, 1990. She began gymnastics in 1994. She trains at Kraft Academy of Gymnastics with Kristi Kraft. She is the youngest of three children to Reese and Lora Beers. In 2001, she partcipated in the Race for the Cure with teammates Lisa Colwell and Kelsey Ainsworth. They finished amond the top ten teams. Cortni was among the top ten individual finishers.

She competed as a level nine in 2000. In 2002, Cortni entered the elite scene. As a child national elite, she finished third at the American Challenge. At the US Challenge, she finished fifth! In 2003, Cortni qualified for junior international elite. She won the WOGA Elite Qualifier. She competed at the American Classic. Cortni also competed at the US Classic. She had a much more succesful 2004 season. As a junior international elite, Cortni finished seventh all-around at the American Classic. This qualified her for the US National Championships. At Nationals, Cortni made her first national team!

Her first international meet was in 2005. She finished third all-around at the USA vs. Japan Dual Meet. Cortni competed at the Vegas Cup for fun. An injury kept her out for most of the season. She came back for Nationals to finish tenth all-around. This qualified her for her second us national team. Unfortunately, she had another injury in 2006. Cortni competed at Nationals as a senior international elite. In 2007, she won vault at the Friendship Cup. She finished fourth all-around at the Crystal Cup and Dynamo Classic. At the US Classic, she placed seventh all-around.

As a freshman at Utah, she competed on bars and beam. She made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the spring semester.
