Natalie Beilstein was born on November 19, 1990 to Joseph and Mary. Her brother, Anthony, played on the Westminster soccer team. Natalie trained at Butler Gymnastics during her club career.
In 2002, Natalie won vault at the Buckeye Classic as a level nine. Natalie swept the gold medals at the 2003 Buckeye Classic. In 2004, Natalie moved up to level ten. She placed second on beam and fourth all-around at the Buckeye Classic. She won floor and placed second all-around at the Buckeye Classic in 2005. At the 2006 Stars & Stripes meet, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. She finished first on floor and sixth on vault at JO Nationals. She placed 12th all-around. In 2007, Natalie placed second all-around at the Stars & Stripes meet. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Buckeye Classic. At JO Nationals, she finished seventh on vault and first on floor. She placed 17th all-around. She was named Region 7 Athlete of the Year.
Natalie had a solid 2008 season. She won bars at the Buckeye Classic. She won floor at the Gasparilla Classic. At the State Championships, she won vault and placed second all-around. At Regionals, she won vault, floor and the all-around. At JO Nationals, she placed second on vault, third on floor and sixth all-around. In December, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Christmas on the Chesapeake meet. At the 2009 Maryland Classic, she placed second all-around. Natalie swept the gold medals at the Stars & Stripes Invitational. At the State Championships, she won vault and floor. At Regionals, she placed second on vault and fourth on floor.
She quickly found success as a freshman at Michigan. She won vault and floor at her first college meet at the Michigan Tri Meet. She again took vault and floor a Michigan State. She won her third floor title of the year and competed on beam at the Iowa State Tri meet. At the West Virginia Tri meet, she won vault and finished second on beam and floor. Natalie placed won vault against Georgia. At the Big Ten Championships, she won vault and placed second on floor. She tied for first on floor at the NCAA Regional meet. She placed second on vault. At the NCAA Championships, she earned First-Team All-American honors on floor. She was named to the All-Big Ten Section Team. She also earned six Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors.
