Leslie Bell was born on October 4, 1991. She began gymnastics at the age of four at All American Gymnastics in Lindon, Utah, owned by Brad and Dawn Cattermole. She moved to Florida at the age of five, joining Orlando Metro where she spent the rest of her club career. Her career has come full circle, competing for BYU under the Cattermoles.

In 2003, she competed level eight. She won the State Championships. She moved up to level nine in 2004. Leah placed third on vault and fourth on floor at the IGI Chicago Style. She took some time away from the sport, competing as a JO diver with Team Orlando. In 2008, Leah competed level ten. She finished 35th all-around at JO Nationals. She missed the 2009 season due to an ACL injury. In 2010, Leah returned to place in the top ten at the Pikes Peak Cup. She finished fourth on floor at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed fourth on bars.
