Simone Biles was born on March 14, 1997. Her sister, Adria, is also a gymnast. They both train at Bannon's Gymnastix. Simone will graduate from high school in 2015.

In 2007, Simone competed level eight. She won floor at the Statewide Qualifier. At the State Championships, she placed sixth on vault. She moved up to level nine in 2009. Simone placed second all-around at Regionals. She won floor. At Westerns, she placed fourth on vault and 16th all-around. She began competing level ten in 2009. She won floor and the all-around at the Mary Lou Retton Invitational. At the Alamo Classic, she placed second on vault and beam. Simone won vault, floor and the all-around at the Rose City Classic. She finished fourth all-around at State. At Regionals, Simone won floor. She finished fourth on vault.

Simone continued competing level ten in 2010. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Ricky Deci Invitational. She swept the gold medals at the Space City Classic. At the Classic Rock Invitational, she won floor and the all-around. Simone also picked up several gold medals at the Jazz Invitational. She won vault and floor at the Houston Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed third all-around. She finished fourth all-around and first on floor at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she won floor and placed third on vault. Later in May, Simone earned her junior pre-elite compulsory score at a regional qualifier. Simone concluded her 2010 season at the US Challenge where she won the all-around title as a pre-elite gymnast.

In 2011, Simone won the all-around title at the Metroplex Challenge. She then traveled to California for the Gliders Invitational where she qualified to junior international elite after winning the all-around title! At the American Classic in Texas, Simone placed third in the all-around and first on vault and balance beam. this qualified Simone to the Junior VISA Championships in St. Paul, MN. In July, she traveled to Chicago, IL for the US Covergirl Classic where she placed fifth on vault and floor exercise. At Simone's first VISA Championships, Simone finished 14th in the all-around, seventh on vault and tenth on balance beam. She missed making the US National Team by one spot.

Simone started her 2012 season at the Alamo Classic, finishing first on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. At the WOGA Classic, she finished third in the all-around as well as first on vault and floor exercise. Simone did well at the Houston National Invitational, earning gold medals on vault, floor exercise and in the all-around. At the American Classic, she finished first on vault and in the all-around, qualifying to her second VISA Championships. A few weeks later, she traveled to Chicago, IL for the Secret US Classic where she finished first on vault and in the all-around as well as second on floor exercise. In June, Simone competed at the VISA Championships in St. Louis, MO, finishing third in the all-around, first on vault and sixth on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. She, along the top 6, made the Junior US National Team.

In March of 2013, Simone was selected to represent the USA Team at the AT&T American Cup in Worcester, MA. She finished second in the all-around right behind USA teammate, Katelyn Ohashi. She also placed first on vault and uneven bars. A few weeks later, Simone traveled to Europe for the European Tour. At the City of Jesolo Trophy in Jesolo, Italy, Simone helped the USA Team to win the team gold medal ahead of Italy and Japan. Individually, Simone grabbed four gold medals on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. One week later, she traveled to Chemnitz, Germany for the USA-Germany-Romania tri-meet. The USA Team placed first ahead of Germany and Romania. Simone finished second in the all-around right behind teammate Kyla Ross. After a rough competition at the US Classic, Simone won the all-around title at the US National Championships! She also placed second on all four events.
