Britnie Jones was born on December 21, 1990. Her parents, Randy and Nancy, are both Arizona Gymnastics Alumni. Britnie trained at Phoenix Gymnastics Academy through the 2004 season. She then moved to Arizona Sunrays. Britnie graduated from high school a semester early to join Arizona for the 2009 season.
In 2003, Britnie competed level ten. She finished second on beam at the State Championships. In 2004, she won bars and the all-around at the Winter Sun Invitational. Britnie finished second on bars and 9th all-around at Regionals in 2005. In 2006, she won bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished twelfth all-around. Britnie finished third on bars and floor at the 2007 Flips USA Invitational. She finished fourth all-around at the Winter Sun Invitational in 2008. At the Fiesta Bowl Invitational, she won bars, beam and the all-around. Britnie finished first on beam at the Hard Rock Invitational. At the State Championships, she won vault, bars and the all-around. Britnie finished first on bars and second all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed second on beam, seventh on floor and 17th all-around.
As a freshman at Arizona in 2009, Britnie competed in eleven meets on beam and ten meets on bars. She finished second on beam against Stanford and second on bars and beam against Washington. Britnie won bars and beam against Brown/Wisconsin-Stout. Britnie also won beam against Texas Women's and later in the season against Maryland. In 2010, Britnie competed thirteen times on bars and ten times on beam. She earned Pac-10 All-Academic second-team honors. Britnie won beam at Arkansas, earning Pac-10 Special Performance of the Week honors. She also won beam at Stanford and against Cal. Britnie won bars against Washington. In 2011, she competed on bars twelve times.
