Haley Bodenheimer was born in North Carolina on September 13, 1993. In 1999, she competed for Central Carolina Gymnastics as a level four. At the Turkey Tumble she finished second all-around. At the Ghost and Goblin and Fall Frolic she won the all-around titles. The next year, 2000, Haley began competing as a level five. She won several all-around titles including the Autumn Invite, Fall Frolic, Reach for the Stars and Judges Cup. At the Level 5 State Championships, Haley won every event including the all-around title!

In 2001, she began competing for High Point Gymnastics as a level seven. Haley swept the golds at the Sweetheart Invite. She won bars at the Charleston Cup. At the North Carolina Level 7 State Championships, she won four golds. Haley took home the silver on beam. The following year she had a great level 8 season. Haley won the Nation's Capital Cup, Carolina Classic and Sweetheart Invite. She won a gold medal on every event throughout the season. At the State Championships, she won her third all-around title. Haley took the gold on bars, beam and floor. She finished second on vault. At the Regional Championships, she finished fourth all-around. In 2003, Haley competed level nine. She had a great first season at that level. She placed second all-around at the Carolina Classic and Sweetheart Invite. At the State Championships, she finished third all-around. At Regionals, Haley placed eighth, qualifying to the Eastern National Championships. Haley finished her season by placing 21st all-around.

2004 brought a gym change for Haley. She now competed for The Gym Company. As a level ten, Haley placed first all-around at the Carolina Classic. She won the all-around state title. After States, she competed at Regionals. Haley placed fifth all-around and third on floor! This qualified her for the JO National Championships. Haley did not have a great season in 2005. She pulled it together to win the state bars title and finished second all-around. At Regionals, she qualified to the JO Nationals which were held in California.

Besides competing the Junior Olympic Program, Haley also participated in TOPS. Haley was a TOPS National Team Member in 2003 and 2004. In 2005, she competed as a Child Pre-Elite. Haley was eight overall at the American Challenge earlier in the year. At the US Challenge, she placed second all-around in the required testing as a child pre-elite. In 2006, Haley switched to Southeastern Gymnastics. She qualified to junior international elite in June. She competed at the US Classic in Kansas City, Missouri.

In 2007, she returned to level ten. At JO Nationals, she finished in the top ten on bars. She had a great 2008 season. She finished third all-around at the Buckeye Classic. She won bars. She finished third all-around again at the National Gymnastics Challenge. She won a gold medal on vault and two silver medals on bars and beam. At States, she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around. Haley won bars and the all-around at Regionals. She ended her season at JO Nationals. She finished seventh all-around. She placed in the top ten on vault and floor. She began cheerleading in 2009.

Haley returned to gymnastics competition during the 2009-2010 with Salem Gymnastics. In December, she placed fourth all-around at the Twin City Invitational. Haley won beam, floor and the all-around at the Daytona Beach Open in 2010. At the Excalibur Cup, she placed third on floor. She also finished third on floor at the Charleston Cup. Haley placed fourth all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished third all-around. She won vault and placed second on beam. She ended her season at JO Nationals, placing tenth all-around! She also finished tenth on vault.
