Abby Bollinger was born on July 19, 1995. She trained at Eagle Wings Athletics until 2006. She then began training at Dallas Gymnastics Center. Abby moved gyms during the 2007 season to Zenith Elite. Following the season, she moved to Plano Unlimited Gymnastics. The gym was renamed Golden Grip Gymnastics in the fall of 2009. In January of 2010, Abby moved to Elite Champion Gymnastics.

In 2005, Abby competed level six. She won the North State Championships. She moved up to level seven in 2006. At the Go For It Classic, she won vault, bars and the all-around. Abby finished second on bars at the Kurt Thomas Invitational. She won the North State Championships. At the State Championships, she finished fourth all-around and first on bars. In 2007, Abby competed level eight. She placed third on beam at the State Championships. She finished seventh all-around. At Regionals, she won balance beam! She finished fourth all-around.

She began competing level nine in 2008. She finished second on vault at the State Qualifier. She won floor at the Rose City Classic. She competed at both States and Regionals. Abby moved up to level ten in 2009. She again made States and Regionals.
