Dana Bonincontri was born on June 28, 1991. She will graduate Bellevue High School in 2009. She competed for Emerald City Gymnastics for several years. She switched to Gymnastics East for the 2005 season. Dana is currently competing as a level ten gymnast.
In 2000, Dana competed as a level four. She won floor at the Rainier Cup. By 2002, she was competing as a level seven. Dana placed third all-around at the Flips USA Invitational. At the same meet a year later, she competed as a level nine. She won vault and placed second on beam. Dana qualified to the Level 9 Western Championships where she placed in the top ten on beam.
Dana continued competing as a level nine in 2004. She won vault at the Flips USA Invitational. She placed third on beam at the Sweetheart Invitational. At the Spirit of the Flame Challenge, Dana placed second in the all-around, vault and bars competitions. She won beam. At the State Championships, Dana became the floor State Champion. She won silvers on vault and beam. At Westerns, Dana placed eighth all-around!
With her new gym in 2005, she competed as a level ten. At the State Championships, she placed second on everything except for floor. At the Regional Championships, Dana placed fourth all-around and second on bars! At the JO National Championships, she placed third on bars. In the all-around competition, she was within the top twenty-five.
Dana had a great 2006 season. She started her season in late 2005 at the Holiday Gymfest. She placed third all-around! Her next meet was in Hawaii, the Gymnastics in Paradise competition. She finished third all-around! Dana then went to Chicago for the IGI Chicago Style. She placed second all-around. At her home meet, the Blooms and Blossoms Invitational, she placed second all-around! Her next meet was the Washington State Championships. She placed second all-around and first on bars. At the Regional Championships, she placed fourth all-around! Dana ended her season at the JO National Championships. She placed 11th all-around!
In 2007, Dana competed at several inviationals. She won the State all-around title! Dana also won bars and finished second on vault. Her next meet was Regionals. She again won the all-around title. She also won bars and beam. At JO Nationals, she finished fourth all-around. She also finished fourth on bars. She was able to attend the JO National Team Camp in August.
Dana started her 2008 season with a bang. She won the Holiday Critique Meet and the Seattle Open. In addition to the all-around title she won bars at both meets. At the Metroplex Challenge in Texas, Dana finished firt on bars. She placed second all-around. She won bars, beam and the all-around title at the Vegas Cup. She missed States because of an ankle injury. With watered-down routines, she finished fifth all-around at Regionals making her fourth JO National Championships. Regionals was highlighted with a gold medal on bars. She finished in the top twenty all-around at JO Nationals. She finished in the top ten on bars.
In 2009, she won bars and floor at the Gymnastics in Paradise meet. She placed second all-around. At the Surf City Clasic, she finished fourth all-around. She palced second on bars and beam. She won vault, floor and the all-around at the Great Wset Gym Fest. At the Level 10 State Championships, she placed first on beam and in the all-around! She finished third on vault and bars. At Regionals, she finished second all-around. She also placed second on bars and floor. At JO Nationals, she finished fourth on floor. She placed 14th all-around. She began attending Penn in the fall of 2009.
