Alexandria Bormann was born in South Korea on March 3, 1994. Her older sisters, Danielle and Kaitlynn, both participated in gymnastics. Alexandria trained at Phoenix Gymnastics in New York. In 2006, she began competing for Parkettes. She moved back to New York in 2008 where she began training at New Image Gymnastics. After a brief break from the sport, she returned to Phoenix Gymnastics in the summer of 2009.
In 2004, Ali competed at Sectionals as a level seven. She finished eighth all-around. She competed at States. In 2005, she moved up to level eight. Ali finished fourth on vault at the Charleston Cup. At Level 8 States, she won vault. Ali began competing as a level nine in 2006. She finished third on vault at the Parkette Invite and second on vault at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. Ali competed at States and Regionals.
After the elite season, Ali competed as a hopes elite at the US Challenge. She moved up to level ten in 2007. She finished second on floor at the Commonwealth Cup. Unfortunately, she struggled with injured throughout the season. She returned in 2008 as a level ten. Alexandria won vault and finished second all-around at the Maryland Classic. She placed third on beam at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. At the Pennsylvania State Championships, she won a bronze medal on vault and a silver medal on floor. She placed fourth all-around. At Regionals, she finished seventh all-around. She qualified for JO Nationals.
Her first competition back in New York was in November of 2008. She placed third all-around at the Balloon Classic. She won vault. In December, she won floor at the Big Apply Holiday Classic. In November of 2009, she placed second all-around at the Balloon Classic. She finished third all-around at the 2010 I Love NY Cup. At Regionals, she placed fifth all-around. She competed at JO Nationals. In 2011, Ali finished first on floor and the all-around at the Heartland Spring Classic.
