Amy Borsellino was born on October 9, 1991. She trained at North Star Gymnastics in New Jersey with Tony and Paula Gehman during her club career. Her favorite event is floor. She began gymnastics in 1996. Amy graduated from Morris Catholic High School in the summer of 2009.
In 2002, Amy competed as a level eight. She finished fifth all-around at the New Jersey State Championships. At Regionals, Amy finished third on bars. In 2003, she moved up to the ninth level. She did well at the Parkette Invite. At States, she finished third on floor! Amy also competed at Regionals. She moved up to level ten in 2004. She won the all-around at the California Classic. At the State Championships, she finished first on floor and fourth all-around. Her floor set a new New Jersey state record. At Regionals, she won floor and finished fifth all-around. By placing in the top seven, Amy qualified for the JO National Championships. At JO Nationals, she finished eighth all-around! Amy also became the national floor champion!
2005 brought Amy to the highest level of gymnastics. She did well at some open invitationals early in the season. At the Parkette Invite, she qualified to junior international elite! Her first elite meet was the US Classic. Amy scored high enough to qualify for the US National Championships. She ended her season at the US National Championships! In 2006, Amy continued to compete as a junior international elite. She did well at the US Classic. At Nationals, she barely missed making the national team. Amy qualified to senior international elite in 2007. She competed at the US Classic.
Amy decided to drop back to level ten in 2008. She won the prestigious Parkette Invitational. On the individual events, she won a gold medal on bars and a silver on floor. At the New Jersey State Team Championships, she won the all-around title. She only competed on bars at Level 10 States. She won a bronze medal. At Regionals, Amy finished third all-around. She won a silver medal on floor. She had a great meet at JO Nationals, finishing in the top ten on every event. She won bronze medals on bars and beam. She finished second in the all-around. By placing in the top four all-around, she qualified to the JO National Team. Amy signed with the University of Arkansas in November 2008.
Amy finished her club career strongly in 2009. She won vault and beam at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won beam, floor and the all-around titles. She finished eleventh all-around at JO Nationals. She won vault. As a freshman at Arkansas in 2010, she competed in six meets on vault. She finished third on vault against Arizona. In 2011, she competed on vault and floor in the last half of the season. She earned first-team All-American honors on vault.
