Sara Boswell was born on June 20, 1996. She trains at National Elite Gymnastics in Austin, Texas.

In 2006, Sara competed level five in the spring. She won floor and the all-around at the National Judges Cup. She competed level six in the fall. At the State Championships, she finished sixth all-around. Sara competed level seven in 2007. She competed at the WOGA Classic. In 2008, Sara competed level eight. She placed first on vault and bars at the Rose City Classic. She placed third all-around. She competed at the State Championships. In 2009, Sara won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Kurt Thomas Invitational. She finished third on bars at the IGI Chicago Style and second on bars at the Rose City Classic. Sara placed first on vault and bars at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won bars and the all-around.

Sara was scheduled to compete level nine in 2010 before injuries cut her season short. She returned in 2011 to place third on vault and beam at the Ricky Deci Invitational. She won floor at the Tiger Classic. At the Gymnastics in the Wine Country, she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around. She finished first on bars at the Houston National Invitational. Sara won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships!
