Elise Bowe was born on June 18, 1989. She trained at Parkettes in Pennsylvania during her club career.

In 2001, she competed as a level five. She won the bars, beam, floor and all-around titles at States. She moved up to level seven in 2002. She finished sixth all-around at States. In 2003, Elise placed third on floor and fourth all-around as a level eight at Sectionals.

In 2004, Elise moved up to level nine. She qualified to States and Regionals. At Regionals, she finished fourth on beam. By 2005, she was competing as a level ten. She finished fourth all-around at the Parkette Invitational. She won a bronze medal on vault at the Level 10 State Championships. Her final meet of the season was Regionals. In 2006, she finished third all-around at the Level 10 Regional Championships. This qualified her for the JO National Championships.

She began competing for Penn in 2008. She competed in every meet as an all-arounder. Elise continued competing as an all-arounder in 2009.
