Shirley Bradley was born on December 27, 1991. She trained at Michigan Elite Gymnastics Academy (MEGA) during her club career. Shirley graduated from high school in 2010.

In 2007, Shirley competed level eight. She finished second on bars and in the all-around at the Motown Madness meet. At the State Championships, she won bars, floor and the all-around. Shirley moved up to level nine in 2008. She won vault and the all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. At the Motown Madness meet, she placed third all-around. Shirley won beam and finished fourth all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, she placed twelfth all-around.

Shirley continued competing level nine in 2010. She won vault, bars and the all-around at the Twistars Invitational. At the Motown Madness meet, she won vault and placed second all-around. Shirley swept the gold medals at the IGI Chicago Style. At the State Championships, she won vault, bars and the all-around. Shirley won bars and the all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, she won vault and the all-around! She moved up to level ten in 2010. She won a bronze medal on vault at the IGI Chicago Style. At the Circle of the Stars meet, she finished second on vault. She did not compete in the championship season.
