Danielle Breen was born on March 14, 1996. She trained at Cardinal Gymnastics through the 2006 season. She then moved to Triad Gymnastics in Iowa where she is coached by Donna and Tom Moretti. She will graduate from high school in 2014.

In 2007, Danielle competed level eight. She finished second on bars at the California Classic. At Regionals, she placed fifth all-around. Danielle moved up to level nine in 2008. She finished fourth all-around at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She had a strong performance at Regionals as a member of Iowa's State Team. She competed at Westerns.

Danielle moved up to level ten in 2009. She won beam at the Chow's Rising Stars Invitational. She finished third all-around at the Arena Classic. Danielle placed third on vault at Regionals. She also competed in elite qualifiers, making junior pre-elite. In 2010, Danielle finished fourth on vault at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She finished second on beam at the St. Louis Classic. She finished tenth all-around at Regionals.
