Alexis Renee Brion was born on November 18, 1982 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Alexis trained at Excalibur Gymnastics in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Her coaches were Jim and Deena Walker.
In 1993, she won floor at the American Classic. She competed in the junior national division. Alexis also won the all-around, vault and floor at the 1994 US Classic in the junior national division. Starting in 1995 she competed as a junior international elite. At the American Classic she finished second all-around and won floor. The US Olympic Festival was a very prestigious meet. She was to compete against the seniors. Alexis performed strongly and won floor. Alexis finished her domestic meets by wining floor at the National Championships. She also finished third all-around and made the national team.
Alexis competed at four international meets that fall. She helped the USA team win the Budget Rent a Car Invitational and the Pacific Ocean Games. She traveled to Italy and finished fifth all-around at the Catania Cup. Her last meet of the season was the Subway World Gymnastics Challenge.
In 1996, Alexis finished fifth all-around at the Hungarian International Gymnastics Championships. She concluded her season by finishing second all-around at the National Championships. Alexis competed in a few elite meets in 1998.
She decided to pursue college gymnastics. She began competing at University of Alabama in 2002. During her freshman year she earned two All-American honors on vault and floor. After ankle surgery in 2003 she earned All-American honors again on vault. As a junior in 2004 she earned All-American honors on vault and floor. Alexis competed her senior year. She is now retired.
