Sharee Burgess was born to Chester and Madonna on July 2, 1984. She graduated in 2002 from Tokay High School in Lodi, California. Sharee trained at Lescisin Gymnastics Academy in Stockton, California. The gym was renamed Champion in 2002.

In 1999, Sharee competed as a level nine. She competed at the Western Championships. She finished seventh all-around! Sharee placed fifth on bars and sixth on vault. She moved up to level ten in 2000. She competed level ten in 2001 as well. She finished third on beam at Regionals. Her senior year was in 2002. Sharee competed as a level ten.

Sharee began college at Sacramento Stae University in 2003. She competed on floor during her first season. She also exhibited on uneven bars and balance beam. As a sophomore, she competed on vault and floor. Sharee also competed floor as a junior. As a senior, she competed on vault and bars throughout the season. She exhibited beam at her final home meet.
