Michaela Burton was born on January 15, 1998. She trained at Aerial Gymnastics through the 2008 season when she moved to Naperville Gymnastics. She began training at Legacy Elite in October of 2010. Michaela will graduate from high school in 2016.

In 2007, Michaela competed level five. She won vault and floor at the Bravo Classic. She began competing level seven in December. Michaela continued competing level seven throughout 2008. She finished third on floor at the Bravo Classic. At the State Championships, she won vault. Michaela moved up to level eight in 2009. She won beam and floor at the Twistars Invitational. At the Bravo Classic, she won the all-around title. Michaela finished second all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the Flip'r meet. At the State Championships, Michaela won vault and finished second all-around. In the fall, she was named to the National TOPs "B" Team.

Michaela began competing level nine in 2010. She placed second on vault and third on beam at the Bravo Classic. At the Gateway Challenge, she won beam. Michaela also placed first on beam at the IGI Chicago Style. At the State Championships, she placed third on beam and fifth all-around. Michaela finished third on vault at Regionals.
