Brittany West was born on May 12, 1997. She trained at Chertkov's Gymnastics through the 2007 season. She then moved to Trinity Academy of Gymnastics. She began training at Legacy Elite Gymnastics in the summer of 2010.

In 2007, Brittany competed level seven. She moved up to level eight in 2008. She competed at the bravo Classic and IGI Chicago Style. Brittany continued competing level eight in 2009. She finished fourth on beam and floor at the Bravo Classic. At the Harley Invitational, she finished third on vault. Brittany competed at Regionals.

Brittany began competing level nine in 2010. She finished second on beam at the Twistars Invitational. She finished third on beam and fourth on vault at the Circle of Stars. She finished in the top twenty at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. In 2011, Brittany won beam at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She won vault at the Bravo Classic. At the IGI Chicago Style, Brittany won vault, beam and the all-around. She won all five gold medals at the WOGA Classic. At the Arena Classic, she won beam, floor and the all-around.
