Hope Byrum was born on July 27, 1998. She trained at Greenville Gymnastics until the summer of 2006. She then moved to Southeastern Gymnastics Center in North Carolina. She will graduate from high school in 2016
In 2006, Hope competed level three in the spring of 2006. She moved up to level four in the fall. She finished third all-around at the Turkey Tumble. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She competed level five in 2007. She won beam at the Judges Cup. She finished third all-around at the State Championships. Hope competed level six in 2008. She won floor at the Turkey Tumble meet. She placed first on bars at the State Championships. She finished second all-around. Hope immediately began competing level seven in 2009. She finished third all-around at the Flip Fest Invitational. She won vault at the WOGA Classic. She placed third on bars at the State Championships. She finished first on bars and fourth all-around at the Region 8 Invitational.
Hope competed level eight in 2010. She finished third all-around at the Sweetheart meet. At the State Championships, she finished third on floor. She placed first on bars and second all-around at Regionals. In 2011, Hope competed level nine. She finished fourth on bars at the National Gymnastics Challenge. She placed in the top twenty at the State and Regional Championships.
