Julianna Cannamela was born on June 26, 1997. She trains at Southeastern Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2015.
In 2005, she competed level four. She finished fourth on vault at the Carolina Classic. In 2006, she swept the gold medals at the Capital City Invitational. She placed sixth all-around at the State Championships as a level five. In January of 2007, Julianna finished fourth on bars at the Lady Luck Invitational as a level five. She competed level six in the fall season. She won vault, bars and the all-around at the Stinger Classic. She finished third all-around at the Turkey Tumble. At the State Championships, she won vault, bars and floor. She placed second all-around.
Julianna moved up to level seven in 2008. She finished second on vault at the National Gymnastics Challenge. At the State Championships, she won the all-around title. She competed level eight in 2008. She finished second on bars at the Hilton Head Island Invitational. She finished second all-around at the National Gymnastics Challenge. She placed second on vault at the State Championships. At Regionals, she swept the gold medals. In 2010, Julianna won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational as a level nine. She won the all-around title at the IGI Chicago Style. Julianna won floor and the all-around at the Charleston Cup. At the State Championships, she won vault, floor and the all-around. At Regionals, she placed second all-around. She won bars and the all-around at Easterns. She finished second on vault and floor.
Julianna moved up to level 10 for the 2011 season. She placed first on vault and third on balance beam at the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational. She placed fourth in the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge and first in the all-around at the Charleston Cup. At the National Gymnastics Challenge, Julianna finished second in the all-around, second on vault and first on balance beam. She placed third in the all-around and second on vault at the Level 10 State Championships. At the Level 10 Regionals, she won a gold medal on vault and silver medals on uneven bars and in the all-around. This qualified Julianna to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Los Angeles, CA where she finished seventh on uneven bars.
