Alexis Cappalli was born on November 10, 1993. She began gymnastics at the age of two. She trained at Buffalo Grove Gymnastics through the 2007 season. She then moved to Illinois Gymnastics Institute. Alexis will graduate from high school in 2012.
In 2003, Alexis competed level five. Alexis began competing level six in 2004. She finished fourth at the Judges Cup. She continued competing level six in the spring of 2005. She won vault, floor and the all-around at the Bravo Classic. At the State Championships, she finished second all-around. She moved up to level seven for the 2006 season. She won vault and floor at the Cupid's Twist Invitational. She won the all-around at the Arena Classic. She competed level eight in 2007. She won vault at the Bravo Classic. She qualified to Regionals.
She began competing level nine in 2008. She won floor at the Bravo Classic and IGI Chicago Style. She won bars and beam at the Gasparilla Classic. Alexis finished fourth on vault at Regionals. In 2009, she finished fourth all-around at both the WOGA Classic and Battle of the Champions meet. At the State Championships, she won floor and the all-around. Alexis won bars and the all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, she finished third on vault and 13th all-around.
Alexis began competing level ten in 2010. She won floor at the Tampa Bay Turner's Invitational. She won bars at the King Arthur Invitational. She finished second on floor at the Arena Classic. She placed in the top ten at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished second on vault and fifth all-around. She ended her season at JO Nationals.
