Olivia Carisella was born on January 29, 1991. She trained at Ivanov's Gymnastics until Hurricane Katrina. She trained at Tennessee Academy of Gymnastics through the 2007 season. she then returned to Louisiana, training at Elite Gymnastics until the end of her club career.

In 2000, Olivia competed level six. She won the all-around title at the Judges Holiday Classic. She competed level eight in 2002. She finished first on floor at the WOGA Classic. Olivia finished fourth all-around at the State Championships. She moved up to level nine in 2003. She placed tenth all-around at Regionals. She competed at Easterns. Olivia began competing level ten in 2004. She finished first on floor at the WOGA Classic. She finished in the top fifteen all-around at Regionals.

Olivia qualified to JO Nationals in 2006. In 2008, she finished second all-around at Regionals. She finished 30th all-around at JO Nationals. She placed third all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the Purple and Gold Meet. At the State Championships, she won all five gold medals. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed in the top ten on vault and floor. She finished 15th all-around. In 2010, Olivia finished second all-around at the Purple and Gold meet. She swept the gold medals at the State Championships for the second year in a row. At Regionals, she placed third on beam. Olivia finished fifth all-around and seventh all-around at JO Nationals.
