Alexis Carroll was born on June 22, 1993. She is the oldest of six children. Alexis has one sister, Mackenzie, who plays field hockey and basketball. She has four brothers, C.J. (football and basketball), Ryan (football and baseball), Jason (basketball and lacrosse) and Shane (football and wrestling). They also have three dogs, two saint bernards and one yorkie. Lexi trains at Hills Gymnastics in Maryland.

In 2004, she competed as a level six. Alexis won vault, beam, floor and the all-around title at the State Championships. She jumped up to level eight in 2005. She finished third all-around and first on vault at the Parkette Invitational. Alexis continued to rise through the levels by moving up to level nine in 2006. She finished second all-around at the WOGA Classic and fourth all-around at the Parkette Invitational. At Regionals, she won bars and beam. Alexis finished third on floor. She also won the all-around title! Her final meet of the season was Easterns. Alexis placed second all-around!

Alexis moved up to level ten in 2007! She won the IGI Chicago Style. Besides the all-around gold, she also won vault and beam. She finished second on floor and third on bars. Alexis competed at the Level 10 State Championships. She finished third on every event. At Regionals, she finished third on beam and second on floor. After the elite season, Alexis competed as a junior pre-elite. She finished second overall at the US Challenge!

She qualified to junior international elite at the Parkette National Qualifier in 2008. A few weeks latter she won the Hardrock Invitational. She placed third on vault and floor and second on bars and beam. She competed at the US National Championships. In May, she competed at the US Classic. She finished twelfth all-around. Alexis dropped down to level ten in 2009. She won bars at the Maryland Classic. At the Parkettes Invitational, she finished third all-around. She won silver medals on vault and beam. At the Fiesta Bowl Invitational, she won bars, beam and the all-around. She finished third all-around at the Byers Invitational. She tied for first on vault. At States, she won the all-around, vault and floor. She placed fourth all-around at Regionals. She won vault. Alexis ended her season at JO Nationals. After a fall on beam she finished in the top twenty all-around.

Alexis has committed to Penn State where she will begin school in the fall of 2011.
