Lauren Cartmell was born on July 6, 1994. She trains at Colorado Gymnastics Institute. Lauren will graduate from high school in 2012.

In 2005, Lauren competed level six. She won beam and the all-around at the State Championships in December. She immediately moved into level seven competition in 2007. She finished fourth on floor at the Pikes Peak Cup. at the State Championships, Lauren placed third all-around and first on beam. She competed level eight in 2007. She finished third at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. In 2008, Lauren finished second on bars at the San Diego Classic. She finished second all-around at the State Championships. Lauren placed 11th all-around at Regionals.

Lauren began competing level nine in 2009. She won bars and the all-around at the Alamo Classic. She finished fourth all-around at the State Championships. She did not compete at Regionals. In 2010, she finished first on bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Denver Winterfest. Lauren won beam and floor at the AOGC Invitational. She won floor at the Pikes Peak Cup and beam at the Manhattan Classic. At the State Championships, she finished first on bars and third all-around. Lauren won bars, floor and the all-around at Regionals. At Westerns, she finished fifth on floor and eleventh all-around. Lauren moved up to level ten in 2011. She finished in the top ten all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational and Northern Lights Classic. She finished fifth all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished twelfth all-around. She finished in the top twenty at the JO National Invitational Tournament.

In 2012, Lauren finished fourth all-around at the Alamo Classic. She placed fifth all-around at the Pikes Peak Cup. Lauren placed third on beam and floor at the Denver Winterfest. At the State Championships, she won vault, beam, floor and the all-around! Lauren finished in the top ten at Regionals.
