Samantha Cerio was born on October 18, 1996. She trained at The Gym Company until 2004. She then moved to Everest Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2015.

In 2003, Samantha competed level four. She finished second on beam and floor at the Turkey Tumble. She won floor at the State Championships. She placed fifth all-around. Samantha competed level five in 2004. She finished second all-around at the Autumn Invitational. She placed in the top ten at the State Championships. In 2005, as a level six, Samantha won beam and placed fourth all-around at the State Championships. She began competing level seven in 2007. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational. At the Make An Impact meet, she won vault, bars, beam and the all-around. Samantha placed second on floor at the State Championships.

Samantha competed level eight in 2008. She finished first on bars and beam at the State Championships. She placed second all-around. At Regionals, she finished tenth. Samantha competed level nine in 2009. She won bars, floor and the all-around at the Judges Cup. At the Hilton Head Island Invitational, she won vault and bars. Samantha won vault and bars at the Tiger Paw Invitational. She placed second all-around at the Charleston Cup. At the State Championships, Samantha won floor and placed second all-around. She finished second on bars and third all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, she finished fourth on bars and 13th all-around.

She began competing level ten in 2010. Samantha won bars and floor at the Flip Fest Invitational. She finished third at the Tiger Paw Invitational. At the State Championships, Samantha placed eleventh. She finished 15th all-around at Regionals. In 2011, Samantha finished fourth all-around at both the Flip Fest Invitational and Tiger Paw Invitational. She placed first on bars at the Excalibur Cup. Samantha won the all-around title at the National Gymnastics Challenge. At the State Championships, she placed second all-around. Samantha won bars and the all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed seventh on beam, third on floor and sixth all-around.
