Cassandra Hanley was born on May 29, 1993. Her sister, Madeline, also participated in gymnastics. Cassandra has trained at Parkettes for most of her competitive career. She competed as a level five in 2002. She won the uneven bars and balance beam state titles. She also won the all-around state title! Her nickname is Cassie.

In 2003, Cassie competed as a level six. She finished fourth all-around at the Friendship Classic. She then placed third all-around at Sectionals. She won uneven bars. At the State Championships, Cassie placed first on bars! By 2004, she was competing as a level eight. She finished third on vault at Sectionals. She competed at States and Regionals. Cassie moved up to level nine for the 2005 season. She placed second all-around at the Friendship Classic.

She moved up to level ten in 2006. She won the Parkette Invitational. She finished third all-around at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. Cassie placed fourth all-around at States! She won a silver medal on vault. At Regionals, she finished fourth on bars and third on beam. More importantly, she finished fourth all-around! This qualified her for the JO National Championships! Cassie had a leg injury in the summer which kept her from testing elite.

Cassie continued competing as a level ten in 2007. At the State Championships, she won the vault title! She also qualified for Regionals. At Regionals, Cassie finished second all-around! She qualified for her second trip to JO Nationals. She also won bars at Regionals. After the level ten season, Cassie qualified to junior pre-elite. She competed at the American Challenge. Cassie had surgery on her arm in the fall of 2007.

She came back strong for the 2008 season. She won the all-around state title! She also won gold medals on beam and floor. At Regionals, she finished fifth all-around. She won a bronze medal on floor. Cassie qualified to junior international elite at the May Elite Qualifier. She also qualified for the US National Championships. She finished in the top twenty at the US Classic. She ended her season at US Nationals. Cassie decided to quit gymnastics following this meet.
