Maria Chielli was born on October 31, 1994. She trained at Northland Gymnastics through the 2005 season. She then moved to Northeast Gymnastics Academy. She will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2004, Maria competed level seven. She finished fourth on bars at the Buckeye Classic. She continued competing level seven in 2005. She moved up to level eight in 2006. In 2007, Maria competed level nine. She qualified to Easterns in 2008. Maria began competing level ten in 2009. She finished second on beam at the Maryland Classic. At the Frederick Classic, she won beam. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. Maria competed at Regionals.

Maria continued competing level ten in 2010. She finished fourth all-around at the East Coast Classic. She placed third on vault and bars at the Pink Invitational. Maria finished third all-around at the State Championships. She competed on three events at the JO National Invitational Tournament. In 2011, Maria finished second all-around at the Maryland Classic. She finished first on floor at the Katie Baldwin Invitational. She placed second all-around at the Pink Invitational. Maria finished second all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished third all-around. She finished 22nd all-around at JO Nationals.
