Alexandra Christensen was born on May 10, 1993. She began gymnastics in 1996. She trains at Exper-Tiess in New York. Alexandra was a TOPS National Team Member in between 2002 and 2004. She will graduate from high school in 2011.
Alexandra competed as a Level 8 in 2002. She qualified to the Regional Championships where she placed 7th all-around. Alexandra moved up to Level 9 for the 2003 season. She finished fifth all-around and 2nd on floor exercise at Level 9 Regionals and qualified to the Eastern Championships. In 2004, Alexandra competed a second year of level 9. She placed 10th all-around and won the floor title at Level 9 Regionals. Alexandra qualified to her second Eastern Championships.
2005 brought her first year of Level 10. She won the Level 10 Regional all around and uneven bars titles. Alexandra was second on the other three events. She had a respectable showing at Junior Olympic Nationals. During the Junior Olympic season, Alexandra competed at the American Challenge as a Child Pre-Elite. She finished her season at the US Challenge. In 2006, Alexandra qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals after placing second in the all-around and first on the floor exercise. In June, she qualified to Junior International Elite. Alexandra decided to compete at an Elite Zone Meet as a practice for an upcoming meet, US Classic, which would be held in Kansas City. Sadly, Alexandra was injured at the meet. She competed on one event at the US Classic.
In 2007, Alexandra competed all-around at the American Classic. She also competed at the US Classic. Alexandra missed most of 2008 because of an injury. After nearly two years off, she competed at the 2009 July National Elite Qualifier.
