Caitlyn Ciokajlo was born on November 25, 1991 in Greenville, North Carolina. During her club career, she trained at Gedderts' Twistars in Michigan. She graduated from high school early, joining Kentucky's team for the 2010 season.

She competed level eight in 2005. She won floor at Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2006. She finished first on beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Easterns, she won beam. She moved up to level ten in 2009. Caitlyn placed ninth all-around at the Hard Rock Invitational. She won bars at the Motown Madness meet. At the California Classic, she placed third all-around.

Caitlyn had a successful 2008 season. She finished second on bars at the For Love or Money meet. At the State Championships, she won bars and floor. She placed second all-around. At Regionals, she finished third on bars. Caitlyn ended her season at JO Nationals, placing ninth on bars. In 2010, she placed second all-around at the Battle of the Champions meet and Hard Rock Invitational. She finished second on beam at the IGI Chicago Style. Caitlyn won bars and the all-around at the Motown Madness meet. She won bars and floor at the Arena Classic. At the State Championships, she won bars. Caitlyn won floor at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed third all-around. She won beam. She also placed sixth on vault and fifth on floor.

As a freshman at Kentucky, she competed on bars throughout the season.
